Reverse Osmosis
| Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems have been recommended by the CDC as one of the most effective ways to protect drinking water. RO systems can be under the sink or incorporated into stand alone coolers. They are semi-permeable membrane to reduce contaminants. The water is forced through the membrane, leaving the impurities behind to be carried away. (return to Products Section) |
Stage 1Filtration is performed by a 5-micron filter consisting of spun polypropylene. The sediment traps dirt, rust and various particles. Stage 2 Pre-carbon filter is made of granular activated carbon. It improves taste and removes chlorine, chloramines, odor, dirt and rust. Stage 3 Reverse osmosis membrane has an output of 35 gallons per day (higher outputs available). This membrane removes up to 98% of arsenic, lead, fluoride, dissolved solids and bacteria. Stage 4 Post carbon filter consists of granular activated carbon that improves the taste after the water has been filtered through the RO membrane. |
